This past summer will be remembered as The Summer of Angry Birds. Our transition from Sweden to Springs L.I. is ongoing. I spent the entire summer sorting out the house (that's an understatment). In order for me to do this the boys have had to keep themselves occupied to a great extent. Viggo got his hands on my first ever iPhone and discovered an App called Angry Birds. Being a Finn and knowing that the game came out of Finland I thought it was kind of cool at first. Now we're suffering the consequences. The game is very addictive and we're struggling to get Viggo to do other things than play. But I think little by little (Judy : )) we are making a dent. I am also doing much better with the food. I have found ways to get the foods I need. I am getting back to making chicken broth at least once a week. Viggo is picky about what he eats but whenever I manage to get him to drink the broth it shows in his behavior. It clears his head and his verbal communication immediately gets better.
The good things are: Viggo likes school and he has a fabulous staff at Springs Public School. At school he is working a lot with math. This has been very exciting. His English has developed a huge amount since we got here (and just last year Viggo was unable to learn much at all-he couldn't hold on to information). Viggo is learning to swim at the YMCA. He is fearless of the water and in love with diving. At the very end of the summer we adopted two dogs. Dustin (now 2 1/2 years) and Rocky (now 6 months) are a great addition to our family! We had made a deal to adopt one dog. A female dog to even things out a little. And what did we do? We adopted two male dogs instead. But Viggo enjoys playing with them and teaching them tricks. He still needs to work on his own behavior around the dogs. Sometimes he gets too loud and worked up around them.

Ah, and here is what you can do if you turn off your TV, computer, iPad, and iPhone (sorry Apple)
